Porch Gliders

Gliding back and forth on a chair on your porch is the perfect way to unwind when you come home from work. Porch gliders add to the décor of a porch or patio and provide a comfortable seat at any time of the day. These chairs are very versatile because you can use them on their own or have them as part of the furniture décor.

Most of the gliders are made from wood - teak, redwood, cypress, and cedar. There are also many styles to choose from such as the timeless Adirondack design. You can choose to paint or stain the wood, but when it is left to weather to a natural color it really adds appeal to your porch setting. There are also plastic and metal gliders you can buy that come in a wide variety of colors. Add a colorful cushion to the seat and you won't want to get up to go inside.

When you decide to buy a glider for your porch, you want to look at the amount of room you have available. These chairs take up more room than ordinary chairs because you have to give them the space to move back and forth. They also need to be placed away from the wall so that it doesn't stop the motion. Metal gliders should not be placed in direct sunlight, so if this is your chair of choice, you need to look at your porch in a different way.

The price of the gliders is another consideration. You should set a budget and then look for chairs that fir what you want within the price range you set. One way of getting expensive gliders at fantastic prices is to watch for end of season sales. Even though they are called by this name, there is still enough of the summer season left that you can enjoy the glider on your porch for the remainder of the year and not have to bend your pocketbook to do so.
