Porch Screens

There are many different reasons why one would want to screen their porch, whether the porch is in the front of their home or it is featured at the back, it is very beneficial and the best part of all is that it does not make your lovely porch look wrong in any way; it actually compliments the look tremendously. Not to mention how it keeps you happy when you are sitting on the porch enjoying the true beauty of nature! You may want to screen your porch because you are sick and tired of having bugs and insects flying in your face when you are enjoying the weather outside, it could be because you have pets that like to be outside but you don’t want them going further than the porch, or even so that you can still enjoy the outdoors on a terribly windy day and on a day when the sun is blazing and you don’t want to get sunburn.

Just a few of the many ways in which a porch can be screened are;

Frames

Screen material can be pulled over frames that are made from either wood or aluminum; this material can be kept positioned by rubber that is required to be in a groove that’s running on each end of the frame. This is normally considered as the easiest method as it is simple to remove, restore and replace.

Frameless 

There aren’t many of these available, but if you are looking for one, you are bound to find it or at least something similar. Basically, all this does is it uses Velcro to keep the screening of the porch in place. You can take it off when you want to, so it is also very convenient as well as easy to install and remove. 

Trim and Staples

This can very easily be the most common method of screening; stretching the fabric until it is correctly positioned, and then stapling it in place. Net is normally nailed in excess of the stapled edges. You then trim off all the excess fabric that is not needed. It is easy to do and the trick to getting it perfect is to pull the fabric so it becomes fairly tight around the frames, but not too tight or it might tear.

Doors  

Doors are another great option for you if you are looking to screen your porch; some of them open horizontally, while others will open vertically. The door is ideal if you have an outdoor feature like a swimming pool, kids little playground, etc as it allows the feature similar to an open plan porch. These are also fairly easy to install, but it is recommended that you have someone in the trade, that knows what they are doing to come and install the doors for you.
