Sunroom Décor
When you have a sunroom, you want to decorate it in a style that will compliment the rest of the house, yet let it be a place of peace and tranquility where you can enjoy the outdoors. Even though you may think all sunrooms look alike, they can be completely different according to the sunroom décor you choose. If you don't pay particular attention to the décor you choose, you could mar the whole effect you are trying to create.
When looking at the sunroom, you need to think about the type of furniture you place there, the colors of the blinds or shades and the overall feeling one gets in this room. For example, if you want to create a tropical atmosphere, the most likely décor to have is rattan or wicker furniture and bamboo shades on the windows.
Placing plants on tables in the sunroom will also add to the décor making it an extension of your garden. The chairs need to have comfy cushions making it a place where you want to spend a lot of your time. Of course, you want to have a table where you can enjoy a cup of coffee with your morning paper. If the sunroom is large, you might want to have a full set of patio furniture so that you can actually take your meals in this room.
The colors of the cushions should be coordinated with the color of the blinds. If you wish you can have the walls finished with wood and stained or you can even have wallpaper on all or part of the wall for the perfect finishing touch. If you paint the room, it is best to use soft colors that make the most use of the sunlight. Light colored shades will also make the room seem bigger. Shelving along one wall or part of a wall allows you to include little accents without making the room seem cluttered.
