Sunroom decorating ideas

You might think that decorating a sunroom is an easy enough job, but if it’s not done well, then it could totally ruin the beauty of the sunroom. Two sunrooms which were constructed in the identical manner might not look equally nice because of the colors and décor items used. The style of the sunroom also has to be considered when decorating it.

Straight sunrooms can be decorated in a way so as to convert it into a patio room with an aluminum exterior, wooden beams and interior finish. If the sunroom’s interior structure is made of wood, then it would be most suitable to use rattan or wicker furniture pieces to give the room a natural look. These furniture items made from plant fibers are stained to go with the color of the sunroom and make it look pretty. You could choose to decorate your sunroom with vintage cushions and tables, racks or shelves to place showpieces on, flowers, colorful mats or dhurries, mosaic items such as vases and vans, little fountains, bird tea cups, etc. Another idea would be to place padded cubes which have nice colored designs or plain cloth to match the sunroom’s color.

Nice wallpaper patterns can be used to do up the sunroom nicely. There will be a wide range of wall cover designs to choose from depending on the structure and style of the sunroom. You can find beautiful wall covers in shades of gold, crème, grey, white, blue, wood, and a lot more. There are even wallpapers with innovative designs such as mosaic, tiles, rubber, metal and wood.

Sunrooms can serve a lot of different purposes. It could be used as a dormer or an attic, and then you could place pretty soft cushions, a music system, exercise equipment, flower pots, pretty brightly-colored rugs, and nice wall hangings. In case the sunroom is built to be used like a spa, you could use a tub beside the glass walls, soft warm carpets, place potted plants in the corners, aromatic candles here and there and closed shelves and racks to keep the towels, bathrobes and other bath items. If the sunroom is to be used as a bedroom, you should put the master bed in the middle and then surround it with nice soft carpets, plants, wall hangings and cushions.

You should use soft light colors to paint your sunroom as that will give the room a relaxing atmosphere. The lights in the room should also be muted. Lighter colors will increase the energy efficiency of the room, and also make the room seem bigger. This helps in regulating the sunrooms room temperature, keeping in cooler in summer and warmer in winter. You should put aquatic elements such as little water fountains or an aquarium to neutralize the sunrays coming into the room.
